We hope this newsletter finds you well. As we step into a new month, we have some exciting updates to share, including an upcoming event featuring a new speaker, recent winners from our New Nordics Pitch Competition, and a potential delegation trip to Melbourne.

New Speaker Announcement for Today’s Event (June 1st)

We're thrilled to announce a last-minute addition to our panel for today's event, "ChatGPT and Foundation Models: The Need, the Infrastructure and Privacy." Jason Kwon, General Counsel at OpenAI, will be joining the conversation. Alongside Dr. Jennifer King from Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), Magnus Sahlgren from AI Sweden, Stine Mangor Tornmark from Openli, and Alexander Young from NVIDIA, it promises to be a discussion you won't want to miss.

And yes, it's not too late to join! Be sure to register for either the online or in-person event in Gothenburg.

Celebrating the New Nordics Pitch Competition Winners

We're excited to highlight the innovative minds behind the recent New Nordics Pitch Competition (NNPC) in the Baltics and Iceland.

Our champion from the Baltics is Flowstep. A global UX library, Flowstep is revolutionizing the world of product design. It offers access to detailed recordings and screenshots of top products like Airbnb, Klarna, Spotify, and many more. This service not only provides unique insights into the user experience, but also saves countless hours of research time. They secured their victory at the renowned tech conference Latitude59.

On the other side, Iceland celebrated the success of the Esports Coaching Academy (ECA). This unique platform empowers individuals and organizations to create professional and profitable youth esports programs. What makes ECA remarkable is its commitment to enhancing the skills of young gamers, both online and offline, and building a community around the booming esports industry. ECA was crowned the winner at the vibrant Iceland Innovation Week.

We are immensely proud of Flowstep and ECA, and look forward to their future success. We also want to extend our gratitude to Latitude59, Iceland Innovation Week, Weird Pickle, KLAK Icelandic startups, Business Iceland and all our other partners and sponsors for their unwavering support and contribution to these competitions.

Join the Silicon Vikings Delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Melbourne

Our friends at the Global Entrepreneurship Network are hosting their annual congress in Melbourne, Australia, this September. We believe it's a great opportunity for the Silicon Vikings community across the Nordics, Baltics, and USA to participate.

We are considering assembling a Silicon Vikings delegation for the event. If you or someone you know are interested in joining, please reach out to Søren Baumann at [email protected].
